A super fun and easy, no-prep game for teaching new vocabulary and structures

Updated: May 24, 2019

Hello everyone! Today, I want to share with you a game I love to play with my students: "Rock paper scissors". Yes, I know, it's a super simple game, but seriously, it works like a charm!

I use it to practice new structures and vocabulary.

How?

Well, here's an example:

When studying Rooms of the House, instead of the usual "rock paper scissors!", I have my students saying, "Where is the (item)?". The student who loses must answer "The (item) is in the (room of the house)!".

Structures we are practicing:

  • Where is the ...?

  • The ... is in the ....

New vocabulary:

  • Rooms of the house

  • House objects

The best part about this game is that you can use it to practice almost any structure and vocabulary you can think of!

Try it, and let me know how it goes!
